Like all of you, the LLL Board is closely monitoring the rapidly developing situation with COVID-19 (Coronavirus). And like you, we are doing our best by adapting to the challenges and safety concerns in real-time, while being mindful of the 2020 LLL spring season.
The Recreation Department has closed all grass and turf fields, tennis and basketball courts, the skate park and playgrounds. Please note that the Town has prohibited all group recreation. While these are difficult decisions, we ask that everyone please respect and follow them for the safety of our community. (See Town announcement on April 8th here.)
As communicated earlier, the start of our spring LLL season will be delayed due to coronavirus. Little League International has recommended that local leagues delay the start of our spring season until May 11th (and Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) has postponed the start of high school sports until May 4th, when schools are scheduled to reopen). To this end, information about subsequent LLL events and the start of the spring season will be announced in the coming weeks.
As always thank you for your understanding as we continue to closely monitor this dynamic and uncertain public health crisis, and stay safe and healthy.
